Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box vanilla cake mix (13.25 oz)
  • â…“ cup neutral oil (vegetable, avocado, or canola)
  • 1 cup milk or water
  • 4 large eggs
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 12 oz candy melts
  • Sprinkles or nonpareils

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven as per the cake mix instructions (typically 325-350°F). Prepare your baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, combine cake mix, oil, milk or water, and eggs until smooth. Pour into the pan and bake according to package directions.
  3. After baking, crumble the warm cake into a bowl until fine crumbs form.
  4. In another bowl, beat softened butter, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and salt until smooth. Fold this mixture into the crumbled cake until fully combined.
  5. Roll the mixture into 1¼-inch balls (about 30g each) and chill in the freezer for about 20 minutes to firm up.
  6. Melt candy melts in short intervals until smooth. Dip lollipop sticks into melted candy before inserting them into each ball for stability.
  7. Dip each cake pop into melted candy coating until fully covered; tap off excess coating.
  8. Immediately add sprinkles while wet and let them dry upright in a styrofoam block.
