  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp lime juice
  • 1 tbsp chopped cilantro
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • 1/4 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 avocado, sliced
  • 1 tomato, sliced
  • 4 leaves of lettuce
  • 1 small red onion, sliced
  • 1 white onion, sliced (optional)
  • 4 burger buns

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine ground turkey with chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined.
  2. Form the mixture into four equal patties and make a small indentation in each center.
  3. Chill the patties in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
  4. Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook each patty for 5-7 minutes per side until they reach an internal temperature of 165°F.
  5. While cooking, mix mayonnaise, lime juice, cilantro, chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper to create the southwest sauce.
  6. Toast burger buns until golden brown.
  7. Assemble burgers with southwest sauce on the bottom bun followed by a turkey patty and your choice of toppings.
