  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons fresh orange juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • Pinch ground ginger
  • Pinch ground cloves
  • Pinch coarse kosher salt
  • 1 batch Super Flaky Pie Crust

Instructions

  1. Prepare your pie crust and chill it for at least 2 hours.
  2. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  3. In a bowl, combine blackberries, sugar, cornstarch, orange juice, cinnamon, allspice, and a pinch of salt; let sit for 10 minutes.
  4. Roll out your dough into two circles; place one in a pie plate and fill with the berry mixture.
  5. Cover with the second dough circle, sealing edges well.
  6. Bake on the lower-middle rack for 25 minutes; then reduce temperature to 400°F (200°C) and bake for an additional 35-45 minutes until golden brown.
