Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 sheet puff pastry (thawed but cold)
  • 2 apples (Honeycrisp or Pink Lady)
  • 1/2 lemon (juiced)
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • Powdered sugar for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a muffin tin.
  2. Core the apples and slice them into very thin half-moons.
  3. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the apple slices with lemon juice and just enough water to cover them. Microwave for 1–2 minutes until softened.
  4. Roll out the chilled puff pastry on a lightly floured surface and cut it into six strips.
  5. Layer overlapping apple slices along one edge of each strip, then sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar.
  6. Fold the bottom half of the pastry strip over the apples gently, then roll into a rose shape.
  7. Place each rolled rose into the greased muffin tin and bake for about 35–40 minutes or until golden brown and crisp.
  8. Let cool slightly before dusting with powdered sugar if desired.
