  • 4 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Season chicken thighs with salt and pepper.
  3. In an oven-safe skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sear chicken thighs skin-side down for 3-4 minutes until golden brown; flip and sear the other side for another 3 minutes.
  4. Add butter to the skillet and melt. Stir in garlic, brown sugar, honey, oregano, thyme, and basil; cook for another minute.
  5. Coat the seared chicken thighs with the sauce and transfer the skillet to the oven. Bake for 25-30 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
  6. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
