  • 2 chamomile tea bags
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs, at room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • For Frosting: 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 3 ½ cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream, cold

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Steep chamomile tea bags in hot water for about 10 minutes.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  4. Cream softened butter and sugar until fluffy in a separate bowl.
  5. Add eggs one at a time and then mix in vanilla.
  6. Gradually blend the dry ingredients and brewed tea into the butter mixture until just combined.
  7. Pour batter into muffin tins lined with cupcake liners.
  8. Bake for 12-16 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Cool completely before frosting with whipped honey buttercream.
